About Us

If you’re looking for custom kitchen cabinetry – or cabinetry for any room – that fits your home’s architecture, that fits your personal style, that fits your life… you’ve come to the right place.

Maine has a reputation for rugged, natural beauty, hard working and exceptionally skilled craftspeople, and a way of life that emphasizes deep relationships over superficial interactions. We bring all of that to our projects every day at the Kennebec Company.

We have assembled a team of designers, engineers, and craftspeople who take great pride in their work. That is one reason This Old House Magazine named us America’s Best Cabinetmaker of Period-Inspired Cabinetry – and why most of our work comes from repeat customers and client referrals.

We are located in the historic town of Bath, Maine, and our showroom in the Old Customs House on the Kennebec River has various examples of our period-inspired cabinet styles. We also offer tours of our cabinetmaking facility during regular working hours, and we encourage clients to come and meet the team that will build your dream kitchen.

Founded in 1974, the Kennebec Company was one of the first kitchen cabinet companies to specialize in building period cabinetry befitting period homes. While we continue to enjoy a well-deserved reputation for exceptional craftsmanship in a wide variety of period-design homes, our designers are adept at adapting to any style of architecture, and our craftspeople will simply amaze you, no matter where or how you live.

If you are considering a visit or have questions, please call us at 207-443-2131 or email. We will be pleased to assist you any way we can. We would be happy to arrange for you to meet with one of our design consultants in your home or at our showroom.

We display our work at several home shows on the East Coast. Please use our link to Facebook for scheduled shows.
